Location - Downtown Fulton
The Christmas Parade is a community engagement event where chapter members design, build, and decorate a float to participate in a local holiday parade. The float is created to represent the chapter and promote agricultural education and the IAHS FFA chapter in a positive and festive way within the community.
Students work together to plan a theme, gather materials, and construct and decorate the float using creative and agricultural-themed displays. Members assist with assembling decorations, preparing signage, and ensuring all elements are secure and safe for parade participation. On the day of the parade, students ride or walk alongside the float, interacting with community members and representing the chapter.
This activity emphasizes teamwork, creativity, responsibility, and school pride while providing an opportunity for members to engage with the community in a visible and positive setting. Students demonstrate professionalism and cooperation while working together to complete a large-scale project from planning through execution.
Participation in the Christmas parade float helps strengthen community relationships, increase awareness of agricultural education programs, and promote chapter visibility during a widely attended local event.
