The Summer Leadership Conference (SLC) is a statewide leadership development experience hosted by the Mississippi FFA Association for chapter officers and active members. This multi-day conference is designed to build leadership capacity, strengthen teamwork, and prepare members to lead successful chapters during the upcoming school year. Throughout the conference, participants attend engaging workshops led by the Mississippi FFA State Officer Team, focusing on communication skills, goal setting, chapter planning, and personal growth.
Members participate in team-building activities, leadership labs, and interactive sessions that encourage collaboration and problem-solving with peers from across the state. The conference also provides opportunities to network with other FFA members and advisors, while gaining ideas to bring back and implement in their local chapter’s Program of Activities.
Emphasis is placed on developing responsibility, professionalism, and service-minded leadership. Attendees are expected to actively engage in all sessions, represent their chapter and community with integrity, and use the knowledge and skills gained at SLC to enhance chapter meetings, activities, and overall member involvement throughout the year.
