The Mississippi FFA State Convention, held in Starkville, is the premier annual event hosted by the Mississippi FFA Association. This multi-day convention brings together FFA members, advisors, and industry partners from across the state to celebrate accomplishments, develop leadership skills, and conduct official FFA business.
During the convention, members attend general sessions featuring keynote speakers, participate in leadership workshops, and engage in career and leadership development events (CDEs and LDEs). Students have the opportunity to compete, be recognized for their achievements, and observe the awarding of State FFA Degrees, proficiencies, and scholarships. Delegates also take part in the business session, where they represent their chapter in voting and discussion, gaining firsthand experience in parliamentary procedure and organizational governance.
The convention provides valuable opportunities for networking with peers, agricultural educators, and industry professionals, while exposing students to careers in agriculture and related fields. Members are expected to demonstrate professionalism, actively participate in sessions and activities, and represent their chapter and community with integrity.
Participation in the Mississippi FFA State Convention supports the development of leadership, communication, and career readiness skills, while strengthening members’ connection to the FFA organization and the agricultural industry.
